Ellie Jane Goulding, born December 30, 1986 on December 30, 1986 in Hereford England. Her mother Tracey Goulding-Summers worked at a supermarket and her father Arthur Goulding was a member of the family known as an undertaker. Goulding is the second of three children with a brother called Alex an older sister named Isabel and a second sister named Jordan. Alex his brother is an bass player and a Hereford band member. Jamie Lillywhite noticed her and was her manager. Then, he took charge as A.&R in a talent contest. Lillywhite later introduced her to producer Starsmith who assisted her to publish her debut song under the Sheets on November 15, 2009. He worked with her on Lights. Although they released the album Under the Sheets via the label independent Neon Gold Records, she was signed already by Polydor Records.
